I am seriously thinking of getting out of Windowsworld and the new 24" iMac looks great!:D
From the listed specs this will really rock.
Anybody have advice on whether I should wait for Leopard to come out or not?
Just do it. Leopard will be a coupla hundred bucks when it comes (Spring), no biggie.

I'm not whining about anything. I think of Macs as entry level workstations (not as desktops), and as such, I find them cheap, reliable, and speedy.

I actually really like the look of iTunes 7. The new view options are cool, but I'll probably just stick with the text-only "list" view.

Mass attacks--viruses/worms/etc.--are by far the most likely threat to encounter, but you can also be individually attacked, or tricked by someone's WiFi trap. Mac owners too should keep that in mind. Just because we are so safe from viruses doesn't mean security is ever 100%.
And the people doing this demo seem to have been responsible about it--telling Apple and the other affected companies the details, but NOT telling the public.

It's just that this has been explained over and again so I roll my eyes more as a reflex... ;)

Was afraid Cundles might have gone ballistic. Especially after Tuesdays constant postings of some very old news:)

I don't use the iStat widget, I use the intel core duo temp widget. Since I installed the firmware update last night, it doesn't seem to work anymore. Odd.

a really nice update methinks, with the 1 gig of ram and higher hard drives, these really are great machines for the home user, i'm sure my folks will buy one, and it will suit their wireless internet needs perfectly

This is getting closer to an iPal - a handheld computer that does it all. That is my next purchase. It needs to be small but with a full screen and real-world-rugged. Will Apple release it this year?

I'm excited for iOS 5, although I am not too fond of voice control. I want Apple to take their time and do everything perfect as they will and always do; but I'm not trying to wait until Fall for an update. I guess iJustin and I will have to bundle up and bring fire wood this year.

It's ridiculous that iOS hasn't already had this enabled - having to crawl back to my Mac to update my phone or iPad is just a total pain....oh, and let's have some wireless sync while we're at it. Get rid of that horrendously ugly, easily broken and filled with fluff connector once and for all. It's just nasty and Mr Ive and his people must hate having to include it.

Too right. My Rev. A will have to be completely dead before I replace it with a 13" MacBook. The only way I'll buy another laptop before then is if Apple come out with a 12" MBP.
Not slagging off the MacBooks by saying that. I just love my PB12". Best laptop ever IMO.
i couldn't agree more, no apple laptop is better for portable computing. thats why im going to pick up an imac for a little more power, and use this beauty as my internet/word processing portable laptop!

Love the white iMac! I personally prefer the design wayy much more than the newer aluminum iMacs, even though the white models are slow as $%!& compared to the offerings of today.

That looks great, and would be fine for touch-input (if it has wrist-wrests); but that's a horrible angle for a screen: you'd have to crouch over it to use it.
It's actually the screen they will use for all old people who have droopy heads...
Regardless, here's hoping that tomorrow they release an iMac refresh to cover up some of the death grip publicity of the iFailphone 4.

Great, another store that carries iPad 2 but won't ever have any in stock. LOL.
Unfortunately I think 80% of iPad 2 supply is going to scalpers and resellers, the moment Apple stores get them in stock they sell out and craigslist is then flooded with heavily marked up iPads. It's kind of ridiculous.
On a related note, isn't it a bit weird Apple hasn't announced any sales figures yet? They're usually quick to brag when devices hit a million sales in a short amount of time.
They can't come up with a million sales yet because they were not able to produce the units before they launch it. That's why there is short supply on stores and people can't have it ASAP.
It's like apple is "testing the water before they cross the river".
They made the supply low so it will look like it is really on demand. and make the people drooling waiting.
If they will come up with the number, probably it's made up!
